Draco TripletTripletto del Drago
The Draco Triple is a group of three galaxies located in the constellation Draco, 100 to 140 million light-years from Earth. The trio includes objects with different morphologies: NGC 5981 is an edge-on spiral galaxy; NGC 5982 is an elliptical galaxy with a kinematically decoupled nucleus; NGC 5985 is a barred Seyfert spiral galaxy with well-defined arms and high star formation activity.
Il Triplo del Drago è un gruppo di tre galassie situate nella costellazione del Drago, a una distanza compresa tra 100 e 140 milioni di anni luce dalla Terra. Il terzetto include oggetti con differenti morfologie: NGC 5981 è una galassia a spirale vista di taglio; NGC 5982 è una galassia ellittica con un nucleo cinematicamente disaccoppiato; NGC 5985 è una galassia a spirale barrata di tipo Seyfert, con bracci ben definiti ed un'elevata attività di formazione stellare.
