One of the most difficult subjects from urban skies, Ngc 7023, commonly known as the Iris Nebula, the brightest of the reflection nebulae located in the constellation Cepheus, an area particularly rich in dark clouds and surrounding dust. An interesting feature of this object is the intense interstellar dust that obscures the stars behind it, resulting in the blue dominance of this nebula due to the young central star. This is what happens with a reflection nebula where precisely the radiation from the stars gives their characteristic colour to the matter orbiting around it.

Uno dei soggetti più difficili da riprendere sotto cieli urbani, Ngc 7023, comunemente nota come Nebulosa Iris, è la più brillante tra le nebulose a riflessione, situata nella costellazione di Cefeo, un'area particolarmente ricca di nubi oscure e polvere circostante. Una caratteristica interessante di questo oggetto è l'intensa polvere interstellare che oscura le stelle retrostanti, dando origine alla dominante colorazione blu di questa nebulosa dovuta alla giovane stella centrale. Questo è ciò che accade con una nebulosa a riflessione, dove è proprio la radiazione delle stelle a conferire il caratteristico colore alla materia che orbita loro attorno.
